You may be wondering what has happened to Bell Park after it looked so beautiful for the recent World Secondary School 7’s in December? The Council has renovated it and removed the rye grass (this gives it the lush green colour) so that the summer couch grass (which holds the turf together) has a chance to re-establish. A major upside of this is the field does not need any watering over summer which saves a lot of money. That said we all like the lush green turf of Bell Park so in the autumn rye grass seed shall be reintroduced to once again give us the surface we had in 2019.
